Update from Linda, June 30

I went out on the ridge around 5:15 this morning. Again today there was a thick blanket of smoke/fog below me in the Big River Watershed to the west of Greenfield. Radical Mountain looked more clear than ever, no plumes rising from the Radical Ridge area, Singley Ranch, or Redwood Canyon, although there was a wispy horizontal layer of smoke or fog over Redwood Canyon. There were no plumes rising above the smoke/fog blanket in the direction of the No Name/Rice Creek(?) Fire. The only place I say a plume rising above the blanket was far to the SW of me . . . it looked like it was probably on the other side of the Masonite Road where the Masonite Road crosses over the ridge from the Ackerman Creek drainage into the Big River drainage, maybe even coming up out ot the Navarro Watershed. That was only about an hour and a half ago and now, perhaps from the warmth of the new day, the smoke has begun rising up again, like it did yesterday, and it's coming over the ridge where I live - the ridge that divides our Eldridge Creek drainage from the Big River - and smoke is now pouring into the Eldridge Creek/Greenfield valley.

Keep your reports coming, Linda. Your immediate area is the only one that I am familiar with and so your reports give me bearings to understand what I'm reading.
