Sunday update (11 AM) s:
Orr Springs area: passing on some good news. i removed voluminous list of names/email addresses from the forwarded emails below for the Running Springs-Orr hood posse. we heard from CalFire (CF) yesterday afternoon that "Orr Series" fires are more difficult to fight than our Jack Smith fire. for those not at the Ranchouse meeting w/ CalFire this week, all of the fires on north boundary of Greenfield are now called Jack Smith Fire.
Greenfield: Ranchers feeling some relief this AM. ranchers met at 10am today at Greenfield RHouse and dispersed to homesteads needing assistance, i believe prioritized by closeness to new firebreak from Bob&Lynn's neighborhood, down to & acrosss Redwd Crk and along northern boundary of our place, Commonland & Eagle&Yolis' -- established by bulldozers and inmate crews yesterday. scores of copter water drops in Redwd Canyon.
stay safe - meca
PS: this just happening: air was better this morning than all this week. but major smoke now just manifested blanketing Redwd basin & Eldridge watershed. couple copters flying again now. just spoke to Debra Mead who says they are again dropping wtr on 2 fire sites below their place (southern flank of upper Redwd Crk canyon). i said so much smoke came up so fast, perhaps CF is doing more back-firing up at the old Singley fire front. Debra is contact for Fred Mac area and has had no info from CF re source of new smoke blanketing both watersheds. Linda thinks smoke maybe blowing in from Orr Series or "NoNameFire" -possibly the Rice Fire to northwest of ranch and beyond Leonard Lake & Reeves Canyon. Debra leaving house rigfht now for Rhouse to make lunch for work crew there.
pls continue to develop your inter-neighborhood communications networks (phone tree, walkie talkie radio channel #) and monitor KZYX 91.5 radio (or at KZYX.org) at top & bottom of hour for updates. keep walkie radios & cell phones charged up.
