The Radical Ridge fire picked up and got hot this afternoon with some increase in the winds. It moved significantly closer to the fire breaks and our homes.
This follows the mandatory evacuation on the other side of the ranch along Fred MacMurray Lane as flames also threatened there.
Emrys said the fire is expected to hit the tributary behind our house tonight, a waterfall that comes from Soren's land to the creek.
He expects the fire may make it to our buildings by morning, and he hopes they can stop it there.
The weather alert looks particularly dire - there are warnings of erratic gusty winds starting before dawn Saturday morning. Those winds are expected to make firefighting extremely difficult.
Emrys plans to stay. There are two crews there. I'm hoping more resources might come overnight, but I haven't heard anything to suggest optimism on that.
