Hi Folks, My friend Hakim has sent the following email about a do-it-yourself taped-together fan and filter that will keep the air in your house clean. I got a fan 3 days ago and 3 filters and it's working great. It doesn't smell like smoke in the house while the fan is on. If you want your own fan and filters, let Hakim know and he can set them aside for you. --Linda
From Hakim: I don't have much more info that price and availability so I hope this helps. We will be getting 100, 20" box fans in some time today. They are selling for $12.99. The 20x20 filters are the important thing. We have three different filters. The one that you need to let everyone know to get is the Filtrete 20x20 filter, model #9802. This is the one that is rated for smoke and it is selling for $15.99. The filters will be in sometime tomorrow. I also heard today that putting fabric softener sheets between the fan and the filter helps with the smell also.

kudos to Jay Johnson & his public access Ukiah Valley TV networking shop for figuring the cheap DIY filter set-up & getting the word out -- and the invaluable networking work his crew is doing re: county issues and more. another good cause to donate to. --Meca
