Hi, Here's the latest map/aerial photo of the fires. There was a fire quite close today that looked to be on Running Springs Ranch. I could see flames leaping up about 30'+ out of the smoke. It kinda freaked me out and I thought that we were going to have to go through the whole scenario all over again. I drove out Windsong to the Main Ranch Road to prop up our Windsong Way sign that had blown over a few days ago, and I came across the Buffalo Bird guys. Thankfully they were in radio contact w/ CalFire and told me that the fires were backburns and were going quite well - that I needn't worry.
Whew!
Anyway, here's the latest map of the fires which (my) Mariah sent to me a couple of hours ago. There doesn't seem to be any change shown on the Jack Smith Fire - although Mike Riddell told me yesterday that it had flared up again. The Orr Springs complex appears to have expanded more to the East (in our direction) and to the Northwest than it was July 2nd when Mariah sent the last map/aerial photo. -- Linda

Thanks Linda. I'm in Berkeley sick with a bad cold or flu. It's good to get news of what's going on in our neighborhood.
