Action Teams

To the Greenfield Community,

At the July 6 Fire Meeting folks decided that it was time to bring the Ranch Community to a level of preparedness that can serve us in the case of another emergency. This includes a trained group of Volunteer Fire Fighters and the teams of infrastructure they need. Also formed were teams to deal with preparedness and teams to deal with the aftermath of the current fire.

You are invited to join this volunteer effort in whatever role(s) you feel you want to participate in. There is much work and planning to be done. Below is a list of the Teams formed so far. This is a new structure so, although I have included some explanatory words about each Team, please understand that this is only an initial overview and neither comprehensive or fully developed.

THE TEAMS

COORDINATION:

Purpose: Keeping teams on task when energy begins to lag and projects falter.

Holding the overview - the mission of this Grand Project
Understanding each team’s specific scope
Working with prioritization of various team efforts when necessary
Helping teams to work together strategically and efficiently

STRIKE TEAM, STRUCTURE PROTECTION, & EMERGENCY SERVICES:
(Formally called First Responders)
Purpose: For able-bodied men and women who are willing to commit to real Firefighter training as well as to respond to Fire and other emergencies on the Ranch. Determine protection needed for the various structures on the Ranch and help facilitate that process.

MEDICAL:
Purpose: To provide basic first aide and supplies as needed in a emergency situation on the Greenfield Ranch. To set up classes on first aide, CPR or any other medical subject that would be beneficial to our situation.
Organizer: Denise Randolph 
ROAD SIGNS
Organizer: Scott Love 
Purpose: To create signage for Greenfield Ranch that is visible (including at night, or with smoke), understandable & useful for firefighting crews who don’t know our roads.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Organizer: Sequoia Greenfield 
Purpose: To establish and maintain a comprehensive Phone Tree for the purpose of alerting ranchers and neighborhoods to an emergency and keep them updated thoughout the emergency. To form a geographically dispersed, trained group to interface with emergency responders, authorties and media in order to foster accurate and helpful information. In general, to keep ya all informed.

MAPS & ADDRESSES:

Purpose: Create accurate and complete maps for CalFire to aid them in emergency situations.
Organizer: Linda Gray

BRIDGE LOAD RATINGS:

Purpose: Determine the load ratings of the bridges on the ranch so the Road Signs Team can post them.

Organizer: Mike Riddell
RESTORATION:

Purpose: Evaluate what needs to be done to reduce erosion and other problems due to the landscape alterations that were required by the fire. Work with a CalFire representative to access what help they can provide to mediate the problems.

RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT: (Formally called Fundraising)
Purpose: Research what funding might be available for restoration.
Organizer: Paul Mueller
